THE world famous Bolshoi Ballet will be appearing “live” at the Hawthorne Theatre in Welwyn Garden City.

IMAGINE a story of eternal love, mystery, fate, vengeance and justice.

Imagine it being played out in front of you by artists at the very pinnacle of their profession and you have a front row seat for the drama.

This is the case when a production of La Bayadere starts a season of live performances by the acclaimed Bolshoi Ballet, direct from Moscow, to the Hawthorne Theatre, in Welwyn Garden City.

In association with Picturehouse Entertainment, there will be a high-definition satellite transmission of the complete ballet on Tuesday at 2.30pm.

Set in Royal India of the past, the ballet relates the drama of a temple dancer – or bayadère – who is loved by Solor, a noble warrior.

However, she is also loved by the High Brahmin, but does not love him in return, and so the stage is set for treachery and high drama.

La Bayadere is the first in a season of screenings from the Bolshoi, followed in March by the live showing of The Rite of Spring (entirely re-choreographed for the Bolshoi for its 100th anniversary) and Romeo And Juliet in May.

If you want to experience the sheer magic of a large scale ballet, of the prestigious Bolshoi, book your ticket now.

After all, it’s not often you get the chance to visit Moscow for the price of a theatre ticket.

* The Bolshoi Ballet presents an encore performance of La Bayadere at Campus West on Tuesday at 2.30pm.

Tickets are £16 and £12.50 for Zebra Card holders.
