An acclaimed acoustic guitarist is coming to Hertfordshire later this month as part of his UK tour – and you could win a pair of tickets to the gig thanks to the Welwyn Hatfield Times.
Two-time Grammy nominee Tommy Emmanuel will be appearing live at The Alban Arena in St Albans on Wednesday, January 18.
The concert is in support of his latest album, It’s Never Too Late.
Tommy Emmanuel is one of Australia’s most respected musicians.
He has been voted ‘Favourite Acoustic Guitarist’ in both Guitar Player Magazine and Acoustic Guitar Magazine’s reader polls, and is a YouTube sensation.
The legendary guitarist’s unique style – he calls it simply “finger style” – is akin to playing guitar the way a pianist plays piano, using all 10 fingers.
Rather than using a whole band for melody, rhythm, bass, and drum parts, Tommy plays all that – and more – on one guitar.
Guitar legend Chet Atkins was one of the first to inspire Emmanuel to try this “finger-picker” style as a child.
Tickets for his Alban Arena show cost £25 in advance.
The Welwyn Hatfield Times has teamed up with promoters to offer a pair of tickets to one lucky competition winner.
