New mums and dads will be able to enjoy a special lunchtime comedy show in Hertfordshire next week – with babies most welcome!
Bring Your Own Baby Comedy comes to Hertford Theatre on Tuesday, June 12.
A lunchtime comedy show for new parents?
It’s true. Bring Your Own Baby Comedy shows have landed in the county town, and Hertford Theatre is delighted to offer new parents and grandparents the chance to have a grown-up lunchtime activity with no need for childcare.
BYOB is the UK’s number one baby-friendly comedy club.
A BYOB spokeswoman said: “Having a baby no longer means saying goodbye to enjoying the best live comedy stars from the circuit and TV.
“We are pleased to be teaming up with the Hertford Theatre to give the mums and dads of Hertfordshire the chance to come and enjoy the best comedians around (and maybe a cheeky G&T) without worrying about childcare.
“Our shows are something totally new and different. As well as being an awesome night out during the day, we also have soft flooring, toys and more for baby.
“Loneliness and depression can affect so many new parents, which is why we have made it our mission to create shows that help parents feel like themselves again, get out of the house, and have a much needed laugh.”
Bring Your Own Baby was conceived by best friends and professional comedians Carly Smallman and Alyssa Kirya.
After new mum Alyssa suffered with post-natal depression following the birth of her daughter, the two ladies decided to help other local parents by starting a daytime comedy club in the function room above their local pub.
The shows proved so popular that they now host them at venues across London and the Home Counties, and are now very excited to be bringing the funnies to Hertford.
Bring Your Own Baby’s new resident MC is Comedy Store headliner Alistair Barrie.
Suitable for adults with babies under 12 months, next Tuesday’s show starts at noon, and tickets cost £12.
Babes in arms tickets can be obtained from the box office free of charge.
Baby changing facilities are available in the auditorium during the hour-long show and helping hands, so that you can relax and enjoy the comedians.
There will be further BYOB dates in Hertford on Tuesday, September 11 and Wednesday, November 7.
