Potters Bar Town were held to a draw at home to 10-man Dartford in the Isthmian League Premier Division.

A game of little quality had finished 1-1 but the Scholars had more than 30 minutes playing with a man advantage after Duane Ofori-Acheampong was sent off for two yellows.

Darts actually took the lead after that through a Sami Carruthers penalty but the Scholars replied through Brandon Adams to take a point.

There were two changes from the side that lost 3-0 away to Dover Athletic.

Isaac Currie and Harry Brant came in with Ben Ward-Cochrane and Ryan Hervel dropping to the bench.

The opening game saw neither side take the initiative, or show anywhere near enough quality.

However, by half-time the Scholars were hanging on for grim death.

Darts carved out several glorious chances but only made Laurie Shala work once, spreading himself to block a Denzelle Olopade effort.

But Josh Hill lobbed an effort onto the roof of the net while he volleyed a corner wide towards the end of the half.

The best chance came in stoppage time after Joe Re's pass to Rickie Hayles was far too timid.

It allowed the ball to come out to the right-hand side where Callum Jones was completely unmarked.

Somehow though, he screwed it wide of the near post.

Bar did have one five-minute spell midway through the half but apart from a Brandon Adams header wide of the near post and a couple of blocked shots, there was too many wayward passes, or no passes at all.

The start of the second half did not bring a change in fortune for the Scholars, although this time it was in the shape of an injury.

Currie, who had been struggling with a hip injury over recent weeks, did not come out of a challenge well inside two minutes and needed to be replaced by Ola Williams.

A couple of early corners pinned Bar back again too as they struggled to get to grips with the match.

They were handed a huge boost though on 57 minutes when Ofori-Acheampong was sent off for two yellow cards,

The first, after 11 minutes was stupid, running a yard or two in front of a free-kick as it was being taken.

It made the second, a late lunge in the corner as Rickie Hayles cleared, just as daft.

And yet four minutes later, Darts went ahead.

Jones went down in the box, and Carruthers sent the spot-kick low to the right of Shala, the keeper getting a hand to it but unable to keep it out.

There had to be a response and it finally came, bringing an equaliser nine minutes after going behind.

Prosper Keto got away down the left, beat his man and when he slipped the ball low across the six-yard box, Adams was there to tuck it home.

The full-back was away again inside the final 10 minutes but this time his thumped cross cannoned off the near upright and bounced behind.

The problem was there were too many crosses put into the box that were straight down the throat of the keeper

Even nine minutes of added time couldn't bring an opportunity to level and both sides had to settle for a point.
