There was home joy for Brookmans Park Golf Club at the Hertfordshire Foxes Finale.
The event is the culmination of the season for the foxes teams at 16 of the county's clubs.
The teams, made up from mid-handicap members from each club, play in a number of divisions within the Hertfordshire Foxes League each season and also in knockout cup competitions.
This year it was the turn of Brookmans Park to host the closing event of the season.
The weather was ideal on the day and each club fielded a team of six players, with the top five individual scores from each team counting towards the match.
In the end it was the hosts who triumphed by one point from Brickenden Grange, the winning team made up of club captain Robin Buxton together with Colin Pocock, Graham Plant, David Rathbone, Alister Hunter and Mark Langley.
A spokesman for the club said: "The day's events were organised by foxes team captain Chris Birtwhistle and Colin Pocock and all 96 players, plus the match officials, sat down for a post match meal and the prizegiving, which not only covered the day’s competition but also the league and cup winners for the season as a whole.
