It was party time as Shire Park Bowls Club (Tewin) brought their 2024 season to a close with their own finals weekend.
The action began with Elaine Wulcko beating John Hastings in the three woods and was followed by Chris Wright getting the edge in the novices competition against Richard Griggs.
Griggs got his moment when he teamed up with Martin Taylor to beat Laura Hastings and Alan Goddard in the drawn pairs while Gus Edwards overcame Bill Draycott in the yardstick.
The competitions kept coming in the afternoon with the ladies invitation won by Linda Draycott and Ian Kirsch against Chris Wright and Robin Bramson.
Bill Griffiths went on to defeat Rob Kenway in the fixed jack while Wulcko and Taylor picked up their second trophy each, beating Linda and Bill Draycott in the Australian pairs.
The final match of day one saw Alan Goddard beat Griggs, playing his third final.
The day ended in a superb BBQ led by Barry Wright, with the aid of a small team of workers
Day two began with the triples cup and brought Taylor his third victory, alongside Terry Crane and Ian Kirsch, defeating Catriona Griggs, Wright and Edwards, who did well to reach the final.
The two woods brought a win for Bill Draycott over John Hastings before the club's main two competitions took centre-stage
The men's singles final went to Taylor, his fourth win of the weekend, thanks to a victory over John Hastings.
The ladies' singles was a true heavyweight clash between Wulcko and Laura Hastings.
The titanic struggle looked to be heading the way of the latter when she held the three shots needed to reach 21 and the title.
However, Wulcko's final wood was inch perfect, taking the shot and claiming the title.
A spokesman for the club said: "The finals weekend ended with Paul Ugo, our very generous sponsor, presenting the prizes, with Gordon Price and Hilary Mullin presenting competitions they had sponsored.
"A great hand of thanks to Barry Wright the competition secretary who organised an excellent weekend of entertainment, for all the competitors and spectators."
