Welwyn United's ladies continued their pre-season with a comprehensive 6-2 win away to Wheathampstead Wanderers.
Opting to play four 20 minute quarters, both sides started the friendly cautiously until midway through the first quarter when Bowers collected the ball 25 yards out and smashed it over the keeper.
The home side levelled but by half-time Welwyn were back in front, Abigail Rowark’s shot lacking pace but a getting over the line after defensive mix-up.
Welwyn came out for the second half hungry for more and dominated the third quarter.
Ruby Hazell opened her account with a fine strike that nestled into the bottom corner before Laura Agnew had one ruled out for offside.
The fourth did come though, Rowark with a sublime long-range effort before Agnew got her goal soon after, going one-on-one with the keeper.
Bowers turned provider for Hazell as she bagged her brace before a late consolation for the hosts.
