Potters Bar Town will spend the first months of the new season away from their Parkfield home - after announcing a groundshare with Kings Langley.

The Scholars are currently installing an artificial surface at the Lantern Stadium and works are expected to last until close to the new year.

They therefore have had to move to a new venue and that is where their county neighbours have stepped in.

Gaywood Park has hosted Watford ladies in the past and will see Lango play in the Southern League Division One Central against the likes of Welwyn Garden City, Hertford Town and Ware.

A statement from the Scholars said: "We are excited to announce that we will be ground sharing with Kings Langley whilst the 3G pitch is being laid at our home ground.

"We envisage this could be 12 games and up to November, we will know more once construction has commenced.

"We look forward to seeing you there and thank you for your unwavering support."

The club are also introducing a special season ticket for the matches at the Orbital Fasteners Stadium.

They are offering a special Kings Langley season ticket for £50, which will be valid "for all home league games played at Kings Langley during our ground share".

All current season ticket holders will be contacted this week.

On the pitch, Potters Bar continued their impressive start to pre-season with another high-scoring victory, although this one was a bit special.

Having beaten Harpenden Town 2-0 and then Hayes & Yeading United 4-3, Bar travelled to south Wales to take on the U21 side at Championship side Cardiff City.

And they returned with an incredible 5-3 win against the Bluebirds' youngsters.

Another away games comes on Saturday, albeit much closer to home when they take on Hadley at Brickfield Lane.

Kick-off is at 1pm.
