Welwyn Garden City played all their cards with a huge and potentially season-defining victory over unbeaten Flitwick.

The visitors to Digswell Park had arrived with seven wins from the seven games they had got to a finished, the other two being cancelled.

However, they left having suffered a 137-run loss to an inspired WGC side, who have now closed the gap at the top of the Championship to 14 points.

The hosts were put into bat after losing the toss and lost Jacob Logan to the fifth ball of the first over.

It was the 34 over before they struck again but by that point Welwyn were up to 99 by that point, Dylan Dhesi the man out for 29.

The man who had bagged the majority of the runs though was Fayaz Homyoon and he would get to 83 before being the fifth man out.

Runs continued down the order as WGC got to 203-9 in 60 overs.

The reply though was where Welwyn exerted their dominance though, bowling Flitwick out for 66 in the 28th over.

Connor Emerton led the charge with 5-20 but he was assisted by 3-16 from Al Mahmud Hasan and 2-6 for Alex Chalker.

There was a reversal of fortunes though as the second teams met in Division Two B, Flitwick winning by seven wickets.

James Hewitt top-scored with 31 while Edward Tucker took two wickets for WGC.

Knebworth Park's early season form is fading rapidly into memory, losing by seven wickets to Holtwhites Trinibis.

They were indebted to 63 from Kobie Richmond to help them get to their final total of 155, Gareth Jones and Joseph Hibbins also contributing with a final-wicket stand of 36.

For a short while they had full control of the reply, reducing the home side to 23-3 with Richmond adding two wickets.

However, the resistance ended there and Holtwhites eased home in the 33rd over without losing another wicket.

Tewin are continuing their title challenge in Division Three A, staying top after a 15 run success over Potton Town.

They didn't have a great day with the bat, putting on just 95 in 44 overs with Luke Wilde's 29 their top score.

However, the bowlers rose to the challenge and skittled the home side for 80 inside 30 overs.

Josh Crutchett took 5-20 in 10 wonderful overs although the other four bowlers all took at least one wicket.

Only an eighth-wicket stand of 29 threatened to give Potton the win but Tewin saw that off.

Datchworth are fifth after a 246-run win over Allenburys & County Hall.

They scored 289-5 in their 50 overs, opener Luke Bennett getting 86 while there was an unbeaten 52 from Tom Vits.

The bowlers though were the real stars as they removed the visitors for just 43.

Nobody for Allenburys got to double figures as Tom Butler got 4-3, aided and abetted by Kieran Atkinson (2-9) and Mitch Constable (2-22).

In Division Four A, Hatfield & Crusaders beat Hitchin by two wickets while in Division Four B, Hatfield Hyde lost by 17 runs to Broxbourne.

Bentley Heath were beaten by Old Owens seconds, one wicket the winning margin in Division Five A.
