A new football club, specifically for women and girls, has been established in Welwyn ahead of the new season – and they’re looking for players and sponsors.
Welwyn United promise a fun and safe sporting environment for players aged from five-year-old through to adults.
With a team of dedicated coaches and volunteers, the club is keen to encourage those looking to develop skills, get fit or simply enjoy the game, to sign up.
Co-founder Karen Merry said: “Women’s football is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Our aim is to give it the best chance to succeed and to provide the best platform for development, enjoyment and growth in its own right.
“We have this opportunity in front of us with a brand-new women’s only football club established ahead of the new season.”
She added: “Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, our goal is to provide an environment to enjoy football together.”
The club is also looking for willing sponsors to get involved and promote their businesses in partnership with this new venture.
Free training sessions take place at King George V’s Playing Fields over the summer.
