Captain’s Day at Brookmans Park Golf Club attracted a large field of nearly 170 golfers competing for a wide range of prizes on the day.
The day is always one of the highlights of the golfing year at the club and the weather was kind to club captain Brian Hall for his special day, which made for great golfing conditions.
There was intense competition through the day with the lead changing hands regularly in all the categories.
In the end 40 players recorded scores equal or better than their handicap but it was Dominic Galano who came out on top with 42 points in the stableford competition, six shots under his handicap.
Runner up on the day was Tom Wood followed by Neil Corbett, both scoring 40 points.
The leading lady was Preeti Shah, who has only been playing the game for a few years, with 43 points.
There were also prizes in both age and handicap categories and a nearest the pin competition on the par three ninth hole which was won by Chris Burgess.
The day was round off with more than £1,000 raised for the chosen charity of Brian Hall and lady captain Jacquie Lowe, the Change Foundation.
