Potters Bar Town have swooped for a former FA Trophy winner to help bring experience to their Isthmian League Premier Division side.
Rickie Hayles was part of the Hornchurch side who triumphed against the odds in 2021, beating Hereford 3-1 in the final after a run which included victories over Notts County, Darlington and King's Lynn Town.
And Scholars boss Max Mitchell is hoping the 38-year-old's experience will be a huge boost to his team's ambitions this season
He said: "I’m delighted to welcome Rickie into the building. He comes with a wealth of experience which will be telling throughout the season.
"I had a good chat with him regarding the culture we are setting and what we are looking to achieve next season and both of our expectations align.
"He’s a player that enjoys competition, a winner that still has the bit between his teeth clearly from our conversations.
"His passion and leadership bodes well for us next season, in what proves to be one of the toughest divisions where we want to stand up and be counted."
