The first two rounds of racing at Welwyn Garden City Sailing Club saw the young pretender finally steal the crown.
Angelo Hansen has been getting closer with each week but he was at last able to beat Annette Walter to victory.
They were locked together the whole race and were tied as the hooter went signalling the end of the pursuit race.
The rules require that where there is not a clear winner, the boats sail on to see who rounds the next mark first.
That was Hansen.
The second race saw Walter gain a modicum of revenge with victory over David Lambert, Hansen in third, while further back Charles Adams was consistent with two fourths and Francis Hansen, with his mother as crew, was first double-hander.
Matthew Dilks continues to make progress as first in the Quba fleet.
Walter was also victorious in the Burgee racing with two wins ahead of Angelo in second and Tony Hale third.
Hansen though had success in the personal handicap race, winning the Wee Auld Mug again.
He will find it tougher in future though as his handicap becomes yet more unfavourable.
Walter was second, Hale third and Pranay Chawla first in the Quba fleet.
