One of the highlights of the year at the Brookmans Park Golf Club saw three championships decided in one day.
Club Championship Day saw the main event and the ladies' competition contested over 36 holes while 18 holes were used for the senior category, golfers aged 55 and over.
All three championships are off scratch.
In the club championship Mike Plant was leading after the morning round with a one-over-par 72, closely followed by Tony Hutchinson, Steve Anstey and Phil Embleton.
And Plant was looking favourite for a long period during the afternoon round until difficulties over the closing holes meant that Embleton, playing steady controlled golf, was able to overtake him and Hutchinson and win with 152 for the two rounds.
Wendy Plummer was the morning leader in the ladies' event with a score of 84, followed by Sian Shrimpton-Davies, Jo Shrimpton-Davies and last year’s winner Michelle Gardner.
She too though saw her lead snatched away as Sian Shrimpton-Davies edged Gardner by three strokes with a two-round total of 173.
The seniors' championship produced some excellent scores from the field of 46.
Hutchinson took the win with 74, one stroke ahead of Garry Higgins.
The trophies were presented to the winners by club captain Brian Hall and ladies' captain Jacquie Lowe.
