Hatfield Swimming Club's storming start to the new season continued with success in one of Hertfordshire's top competitions.
The Herts Major League brings all clubs in the county affiliated to Swim England and was started in 1979 as a way of bringing the competitive spirit to the surface with good-natured and friendly rivalry.
The most recent edition had Hatfield in Division One, defending their title against 11 other teams including City of St Albans, Watford, Hemel, Verulam and Harpenden.
Each of the three rounds are split so there are two galas of six teams and after the first two rounds, Hatfield were tied with St Albans.
The head-to-head came in the final round, held at Stevenage, and after there was no change in the overall standings after the first few races, Hatfield were eventually able to pull away and claim the title once again.
That left CoStA in second with Stevenage in third.
A spokeswoman for the club said: "Our coaches were very pleased with the team performance and the camaraderie, with swimmers cheering and supporting their team-mates throughout.
"It's great experience for our youngest swimmers to get involved with a team competition and be included in relays with some of the more senior swimmers.
"We're delighted to defend the title and be crowned champions again."
