Hatfield Swimming Club have announced a London 2012 Olympian as their new head coach.
Dan Fogg competed in the 10km open water 11 years ago, coming fifth, and also in the 1500m freestyle where he was eighth in the final.
Aside from that, the now 35-year-old was eighth again over the same distance at the 2013 World Championships while he competed twice at Commonwealth Games, gaining a bronze medal at Delhi 2010.
He is also a four-time British champion at 1500m freestyle as well as the 2013 FINA World Cup champion in the open water 10k and the European champion from the 2014 event over 5k.
His coaching career has been developed at the club since 2016 and helped him gain selection for the Swim England 2028 programme.
Fogg said: "Having been at the club now for nearly seven years, developing my coaching and leadership skills, I am thrilled to now become Hatfield’s head coach and director of swimming.
"I am excited about the future of the club and where we can progress to in the coming years.
"With a fantastic team of coaches, swimmers, volunteers, parents and officials I am sure that the support we have can drive the club onwards and upwards and I am looking forwards to what we can achieve together.
"I have been a part of the Swim England coaching pathway since taking up the role in 2016 and this week have been selected as part of the coach 2028 programme to further my development which I am excited about."
A spokeswoman for the club added: "We are delighted to be making this announcement and are convinced that Daniel will bring a new energy to the club and drive us to new heights."
