It may have been very cold but a strong wind ensured there was no ice and Welwyn Garden City Sailing Club lapped up the conditions in their latest round of races.
In fact the weather was some of the best seen at Stanborough Lakes for some time, especially when the sun came out.
One person who took full advantage was Annette Walter who proved unstoppable in race one, simply sailing further and further away.
Alan Campbell found a way in race two though, despite starting last, as he caught and passed her on the final lap.
It meant the pair shared top honours on the day with Dave Lambert in the other Supernova settling for third in both races
Angelo Hansen was fourth in race one and first junior despite having to recover from capsizing.
Roger Morse almost went in the drink on a couple of occasions but stayed upright to come fourth in race two.
Angelo's brother and the youngest junior, Francis, did capsize a few times but managed to keep going much to his credit.
