Potters Bar have added more county champions to their honours board after a quality quartet took home the title.
Played at Bishop's Stortford, the Hertfordshire Bowls finals saw Bar's senior fours team of Anita Bowman, Diane Berry, Diane Jewell and Pam Rodgers defeat neighbours Northaw & Cuffley 23-8.
They will now go on to compete in the national finals in Royal Leamington Spa at the end of the month.
Jewell then made it a double success by seeing off Shirley Edwards of Sawbridgeworth 22-18 to become the Women’s Unbadged Champion.
Shire Park Bowls Club (Tewin) continued their games in the WGC centenary tournament at home to Welwyn & District, winning by eight points with success on two of the three rinks.
They couldn't repeat that though against Hatfield in the same competition, losing on all rinks.
In the Welwyn & Hatfield fours, the quartet of Imelda Handley David Williams, Martin Reeve and Gus Edwards beat Datchworth 20-9 to advance to the next round but Edward's run in the East Herts pairs alongside Graham Daniels came to an end with a 20-10 loss at BSP.
There was no joy either in the Friday SADBA triples as they got zero points from a 43-31 loss to Harpenden although they did manage two in the East Herts League thanks to a rink win for Peter Bendell, Bill Draycott and Martin Reeve.
They lost overall by 38 shots to 31.
Datchworth's ladies suffered a 30-16 loss at home to Bishop's Stortford in the County League and the club's luck didn't improve in Division Two of the East Herts League as the Golds lost 46-27 at Sawbridgeworth Reds, losing on both rinks.
There was better news in a friendly game though as Kimpton were beaten at Turkey Farm 65-31.
They won on all three rinks with Janet Akers, Phil Holzbauer and Graham Akers the best of them.
