WELWYN Garden City golfer Hannah Burke is challenging in the European Ladies’ Championship in the Czech Republic.
England international Hannah is four shots off the lead after shooting an excellent four-under 68 in the second round of the competition at Kuneticka Hora.
Hannah, from the Mid-Herts club, opened with a level par round of 72 and her 68 lifted her from 25th to sixth on the leaderboard.
She is four shots behind the leader, Marta Silva of Spain.
Hannah, who is the Irish Open strokeplay champion, had six birdies and an eagle in her round, with two bogeys and one double, on the 17th.
She was two-under par on both nines.
All the England players in the field improved their standing in the second round.
Charlotte Ellis (Minchinhampton) moved from 64th to a share of 28th place when she added a two-under 70 to her opening 75.
She is tied, among others, with Hannah Barwood (Knowle), who has played steadily for scores of 73, 72.
English champion Hayley Davis (Ferndown) scored 75, 72 and is in a group on 43rd place, which also includes Rachel Jennings (Izaak Walton) 74, 73.
