Sprint queen Jodie Williams is set to return to track action this weekend at the Great CityGames Manchester.

The 22-year-old European sprint relay champion and Commonwealth Games silver medallist will compete in the 150m sprint on Saturday, May 9.

Williams, a Herts Phoenix club athlete from Welwyn Garden City, was named in the Great Britain & Northern Ireland team for the IAAF World Relays in the Bahamas earlier in the month, but pulled out as a precaution after a hamstring twinge.

The Hertfordshire star, now based in St Albans, will face a strong field lining up against rival Dafne Schippers who took the European outdoor sprint double when she beat Williams to 200m gold as well as winning the 100m in Zurich last year.

Other GB stars to compete at the event include Olympic heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis-Hill, Olympic long jump champion Greg Rutherford, European indoor pentathlon champion Katarina Johnson-Thompson and 2015 European indoor 60m champion Richard Kilty.

The Great CityGames Manchester will be held the city centre and will be shown live on BBC One and BBC One HD from 1pm.
