This August bank holiday bus operator Arriva is offering customers the opportunity to enjoy a day out with a friend for less.
For this weekend only, Saturday, August 27 to Monday, August 29, pairs will be able to travel on Arriva buses in and around the county with the special two for one m-ticket.
With this offer available to all Arriva is hoping to encourage people to head out into Hertfordshire and perhaps visit the Galleria in Hatfield for the day or take a short tour.
The bus operator is also encouraging people to take advantage of relaxed seating, bus tracking on your phone, personalised timetables available on the Arriva app, and free Wifi on selected routes.
Richard Lewis, Marketing Manager at Arriva, said: “What better way to enjoy your Bank Holiday weekend than with an exciting day of two for the price of one bus travel.
“We’re encouraging anyone who might not see the bus as their first form of transport to give it a go and be impressed by the comfort it offers.
“Why not visit England’s oldest pub in St Albans or take a trip to Hertford Castle this weekend? There really is a lot to do and see in Hertfordshire and we at Arriva are hoping this makes it that bit easier to get there and enjoy your day hassle free.
“The ticket is designed with our customers in mind to alleviate the stress of travel on a very busy weekend and is simple and easy to use.
“With the m-ticket you don’t need to print anything out and there is no change required – your ticket is literally in the palm of your hand.”
To enjoy the offer, download the Arriva m-ticket app available for android devices and iphones and purchase the Bank Holiday two for one day ticket in advance.
You can then activate it before travelling and present it to the driver when you board.
Customers can also use the Arriva travel app, which enables them to identify the nearest bus stop, the time of the next bus and which bus to catch to reach their chosen destination.
Downloaders of the app can also receive real time updates.
