Plans have been submitted to Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council's Development Management Committee to demolish a petrol garage to make way for a regeneration of the site.
Premier Forecourts and Construction is seeking permission to knock down the exisiting structures at Stadium Service Station - the Shell garage in Stanborough Road - as part of site redevelopment to include installation of EV charging, and an upgrade to shop facilities and fuel infrastructure.
According to the planning portal, neighbours in nearby Stanborough Close and and Rooks Hill have been notified and invited to share their views on the plans. The neighbour consultation ends on April 29.

The petrol garage underwent a refurbishment and partnerned with supermarket Budgens in 2017.
Among those consulted were Handside ward councillors Fiona Thomson, Gemma Moore and Michal Siewniak.
Cllr Fiona Thomson said in her response: "I would request that Premier engage with neighbouring residents at the earliest opportunity to make them aware of the proposals and also to allay any concerns residents may have about this 20 week build and the impact it will have on them and the immediate local area."
