New technology-packed buses for students and residents have been unveiled by the University of Hertfordshire’s bus company Uno.

The six double-decker buses, which cost £1.3million, have USB charge ports at every seat, free Wi-Fi and enhanced emissions equipment.

Known as The Comet – named after the first commercial jetliner developed at Hatfield Aerodrome – the buses will cover the 614 and 644 routes.

James Thorpe, managing director for Uno Buses, said: “We’re so excited to be launching The Comet buses into service this September, they really are something else.
