Quilters from Welwyn and Baldock have raised £1,000 for Lister Area Kidney Patients Association (LAKPA).
Following the death of one of their members, Icknield Quilters - based in Baldock - and Mimram Quilters, in Welwyn, were asked to redistribute quilting fabrics, threads and other sewing items in aid of Lister Area Kidney Patients Association.
Zoe Bright, Mimram Chairman explained that the family of the late Penny Chattey had chosen LAKPA, because Penny had been a patient at the Lister Renal unit.
Icknield's Chairman, Sue Rainbow said: "While most quilters have huge supplies of fabric at home, there is always room for more. We had no difficulty rehoming it all!"
The two groups held a number of sales of their products and have been able to hand over the sum of £1,000 to LAKPA.
