My name is River and I think you can see from my portrait that I am just the cutest calico kitten ever!

I also have heard it said that I am "just purrfect, friendly, affectionate, gentle and fun".

My story starts not with me, but with my mum Ruby, who was abandoned by her owners as a young cat and arrived at Southridge pregnant with me - an only kitten.

For months Mum and I were very close and I dearly wished to stay with her so we could find a home together, but sadly for me she had other plans.

Once I was weaned, she decided she wanted time to herself and made it clear I was in the way, so to her relief and my disappointment we now live separately.

Therefore currently - apart from the lovely staff and volunteers who visit with me - I am quite lonely and want desperately to find a home with another feline friend to play and snuggle up with.

Apart from the company of another young cat, as I am a fun girl who loves to frolic and who also has a gentle nature I think I would enjoy the company of children aged 11 years and older, and a cat-friendly dog would also be fine.

In my ideal home there will be someone around for the majority of the time, at least until I am settled in to my new abode, as I have only ever lived at Southridge - so it's bound to be a bit of an adjustment for me.

I can't wait to be able to explore the outside world too, and would like a garden that I can access via a cat flap in an area where there is not much traffic.

So here I am, the most gorgeous, cutest kitten waiting for you to take me home before Christmas so I can spend the festive season and beyond as a member of your family.
