Officers have hosted another successful open day at The Bunker museum in the basement of Hatfield Police Station.
The Bunker celebrates the Grade II listed Comet Way building’s heritage as the former home of the de Havilland aircraft factory.
It was created as a public engagement initiative to foster better relations between the police and the local community, particularly schoolchildren.
On Saturday, November 16, more than fifty people flocked to Hatfield Police Station as the doors to The Bunker were opened.
PCSO Anne Devine, from the Welwyn Hatfield Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We always enjoy opening our doors for locals to come along and see The Bunker.
"This was another busy open day and everybody had a great time."
Visitors were given a tour of the free museum and had the opportunity to handle historical artefacts from the war.
There was also a chance to explore some of the modern equipment used by police.
In addition to enjoying what the museum has to offer, the visitors were able to speak to officers about police matters and gain crime prevention advice.
PCSO Devine added: “Our visitors were able to learn about the station’s incredible history through the various photos, historical items, original film footage, dioramas and models we have on show.
“Most importantly, it gave locals the chance to meet us in an informal setting so that they could chat through any concerns on local policing and share feedback.

"Our December open day is already fully booked but there is still some space for our open day on Saturday, January 18.
"Please go to our website to book your space and make sure to specify how many people you are booking for.
"Unfortunately we cannot take walk-ins on the day, but we will be announcing more dates in due course. We look forward to welcoming you.”
