Officers from the Welwyn Hatfield Neighbourhood Team have hosted the first in a new series of beat surgeries in Hatfield.

Beat surgeries provide an opportunity for residents to meet their local officers in a relaxed and informal setting.

PCSOs Mark Randall and Shannon Payne will be hosting surgeries at St John’s Church community café in the Hilltop area of Hatfield between 11am and 1pm on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, December 18
  • Wednesday, January 29
  • Wednesday, March 12

On Wednesday, November 6, the pair hosted the first surgery of the series and spoke to residents about matters concerning them.

They also issued helpful crime prevention advice.

“Their community café runs every Wednesday between 10am and 2pm and gives locals somewhere nice and warm to hang out, have a coffee and meet others.

“Our first surgery went really well and we are looking forward to meeting with more residents over the coming months. Please do come along and meet us. We are here to help you.”

The new surgeries in south Hatfield follow the success of similar initiatives at Hatfield Library in the town centre and at Birchwood Leisure Centre.
