Essendon Primary School marked Remembrance Day with a special assembly and outdoor display.
The school came together on Monday, November 11, at 11am, to honour those who have sacrificed for freedom.
The day was recognised with readings, songs, and a moment of silence.
An outdoor display was created with children's artwork, providing a tranquil reflection space.
This display will soon move to Essendon Church for the wider community to enjoy.
Mrs Cawthra, a teacher at the school, said: "Our school is a very special place, the children understand how important it is to mark such an important day.
"Every child held a piece of slate, which they had drawn a poppy on, during the assembly and then all the pieces were joined together as part of the outdoor display."
