Remembrance parades and services took place in Welwyn Hatfield over the weekend, as the nation marked Remembrance Sunday.
Welwyn Garden City
The parade to the War Memorial in Howardsgate began at the Campus Roundabout at around 10.30am, with representations from all the services and youth organisations gathered.
The Welwyn Garden City Band played at the service. The Mayor of Welwyn Hatfield, Councillor Frank Marsh, accompanied by Deputy Lieutenant Mark Bretton, Welwyn Hatfield Deputy Leader, Councillor Jane Quinton and Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council executive director Sue McDaid, joined residents and members from the Royal British Legion for the ceremony.
A spokesperson for the council said: "Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning and this afternoon for the Remembrance Sunday services, honouring and remembering our heroes."
Hatfield Hyde
A procession left St Mary Magdalene Church in the afternoon, with the service beginning at the village memorial at 3pm.
Welwyn Hatfield Borough Mayor, Councillor Frank Marsh also attended, accompanied by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant Anthony Chapman.
Hatfield
The town's parade set off from Hatfield House at 10.30am on Sunday. Dignitaries and members of various cadet groups attended for the service and two-minute silence.
A Hatfield Town Council spokesperson said: "A huge thank you to everybody for coming out to this years Remembrance Day service. It was great to see so many familiar faces, as well as some new ones, along to join us."
Digswell
The annual service in Disgwell was conducted by Rev Canon Dr Rob Marshall (Digswell Parish) and Rev Rosemary Mutopo (Digswell Village Church) at 12.30pm.
Around 60 people attended including pupils from St John's School. The children had made their own remembrance wreaths at school, and were accompanied by headteacher Mr Arnold Worton-Geer.
Other dignitaries present were MP Andrew Lewin and Councillor Siva Gange from Welwyn Parish Council
