Anxiety life-coach Claire Humphries is bringing conscious dance and movement to Welwyn Garden City.
Starting on November 15 at the Quaker Hall on Handside Lane, there will be a monthly Friday evening dance for people to come together and move naturally to music.
A study has shown that dancing is the best form of exercise for depression.
This doesn’t surprise Claire, who said: “I see everyone leave with a glow, energised and relaxed with many telling me it’s the only thing that stops them overthinking!”
Unlike other dance events or classes, there are no steps to learn in and you don’t have to dance, just move as you feel to the music, resting when you like.
There’s no chat, alcohol, drugs or devices, allowing attendees space and time out.
“We know that the longest-living, happiest and healthiest people in the world move and connect together in community regularly," Claire continued.
"This is so important for our physical, emotional and mental health and why I want to do this for people locally."
