Hello readers,

Our names are Toffee and Simba and what a handsome and lovely pair of cats we are. Being absolutely devoted to each other we are seeking a home together.

We may be late middle aged gents, Toffee at 13 years and Simba at 11 years, but we are fit, healthy with not a grey hair or wrinkle in sight.

We have not had an easy life. Rescued from a multi-cat household by an RSPCA inspector due to welfare concerns, we were very scared - never having experienced consistent positive interactions with humans.

ToffeeToffee (Image: RSPCA Southridge) Receiving the care and kindness we needed from the RSPCA was such a relief, but our luck really changed when we came to live with our wonderful foster carer, where we have thrived.

While we remain wary we have gradually overcome some of our nervousness, particularly Simba, and feel safe to demonstrate our sweet affectionate side with the person we have come to trust.

Unfortunately due to a change of circumstances our foster carer will no longer be able to care for us, so unless we are lucky enough to find our forever home by the end of November, we will have to go back to the cattery at Southridge - a scary and daunting prospect for sweet, but shy cats, who have become accustomed to the comforts of a loving home.

We both like to be brushed, particularly Simba who enjoys a nice groom before breakfast, while Toffee appreciates a shorter session.

We are very clean cats, who have never experienced the outdoors, so are more suited to being house cats.

However it is possible that in the future, once we are settled and feel secure, we might like the opportunity to experience the great outdoors, so ideally we would like a home with a private, secure garden for us to potentially explore.

We are used to being left alone during the day. We have our scratching boards and soft toys to keep us amused, and always give our wonderful foster carer a warm welcome when they return home.

We would like a dog-free, calm home. We would consider living with older children (secondary school age), and need kind, patient people who understand we will take time to settle, and will need a quiet area just for us at first.

We probably won't like to be lap cats, although Simba does like to be picked up for a quick cuddle, but we are gorgeous boys, real sweethearts and will reward you with love in our own way, by showing our trust, affection and gratitude.

Please, please can you give us our forever home now!!?
