Hatfield Community Fireworks display will not be taking place this year after the town council used its budget to put on a community event.
The display at Angerland was a popular event for residents, but no announcement had been made about this year's edition.
Hatfield Town Council has now confirmed that the fireworks will not be taking place this year, after the decision was made to put the events budget into September's Community Day.
"Hatfield Community Fireworks display won’t be taking place this year," a spokesperson told the Welwyn Hatfield Times.
"The decision was made to put the budget into the town council’s community event, which took place in the town centre in September."
The future of next year's firework display also remains unclear, with the spokesperson adding: "At this point I am unsure about next year, as this will be a decision made by the events committee in 2025."
