The multi-storey car park at Stevenage's Lister Hospital has achieved a Park Mark and Park Access award.
The 11-level multi-storey car park managed by Saba Park Services UK Limited on behalf of East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust has been given the award which recognises measures in place that actively deter crime and the fear of crime within the facility.
Park Mark is the accredited logo of the Safer Parking Scheme.
It is given to parking facilities that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the Police and the British Parking Association (BPA).
Their assessments include management and maintenance of the facility, checking that there are appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage, and cleanliness.
The Park Access accreditation is issued to parking facilities that pass a rigorous risk assessment conducted by the BPA . This award recognises that the parking and driver facilities in place are accessible to all drivers regardless of their mobility needs.
Brett Mattison, contract manager for Saba UK, said: " I am delighted that the multi-storey car park at Lister Hospital has once again been accredited with the Park Mark Award along with Park Access.
"Saba UK supports the BPA, the scheme, and the team here in Stevenage work hard to ensure the facilities are up to a high standard and that the users feel safe when visiting the car park. It is always a pleasure to work alongside the BPA and having their support is welcomed, my team and I look forward to their next visit and being reaccredited”.
