Isabel Hospice has launched its "Together at Christmas" campaign, which aims to raise £140,000 by the end of the festive period.

The money raised will be crucial for helping to fund Isabel Hospice’s vital services, providing end-of-life and palliative care to people in Welwyn Hatfield and across eastern Hertfordshire affected by life limiting illness.

A series of seasonal events, raffles and activities have been organised to get the community involved and help Isabel Hospice hit this fundraising target.

The campaign kickstarts with a funky Bee Gees Tribute Night at the Welwyn Civic Centre on the November 2 and continues with the Christmas market "Christmas at the Manor" on  November 13 at The Manor of Groves.

Dog owners are being called upon to take part in “Doggy Dash”, a three-mile run in November to commemorate the important work of Isabel Hospice’s therapy dogs.

Business owners can show their support throughout December by becoming a “Corporate Star” and displaying a decorative Isabel Hospice LED star in their business and raising a minimum of £1,000 by the end of January.

On December 11, the playful "Christmas Jumper Day" encourages the community to don their most eccentric Christmas sweaters for a donation of £2 to Isabel Hospice.

As Christmas nears, the dulcet tones of the Harmonaires Choir will resound through Haileybury School’s Chapel for "Carols in the Chapel" on December 14.

Open to all, five "Lights of Love" remembrance services, spread across different venues in eastern Hertfordshire throughout November and December, offer a warm and reflective occasion for families to honour and reminisce about loved ones who have passed on.

No connection to Isabel Hospice is required and all the Lights of Love service are free to attend.

The largest Lights of Love service will take place in Welwyn Garden City at 4pm on December 8 at The View, Panshanger Golf Complex.

A "Winter Wishes Raffle" with cash prizes reaching up to £2,000 launches in November, presenting a chance for supporters to bolster their Christmas budget while aiding Isabel’s vital services.

In the New Year, the hospice’s "Treecycle" initiative returns. Running from the January 6 to 12, the scheme advocates for environmental responsibility, where for a modest suggested donation, Isabel Hospice will collect and responsibly recycle Christmas trees from residences in local postcodes.

Individuals inclined towards a direct contribution can opt to donate to the "Home for Christmas Appeal", where a cash donation could help enable hospice patients to spend this Christmas at home with their loved ones.

Head of Fundraising at Isabel Hospice, Katy O’Sullivan says, "The Together At Christmas campaign is hoping to engage our amazing community of eastern Hertfordshire. Through these engaging events and services, we are hopeful that we will reach our goal of £140,000, ensuring that Isabel Hospice will be able to continue providing our essential services for many Christmases to come.”
