Students at Onslow St Audrey's School in Hatfield are set to benefit from the opening of a new sports hall.
The new hall will be the base of all PE and dance lessons, as well as extra-curricular activities.
Head of the PE faculty, Mitchell Davey, expressed his enthusiasm for the new space.
He said: “We are thrilled to open the doors to our new state-of-the-art sports facility for our learners and the local community.
"The facility includes a first-class sports hall made up of various sports markings for national and community competition use as well as our spacious dance studio.
"This facility takes our provision to a new level and well on our way to becoming the school of choice for physical education within the area”.
One of the highlights of this investment is its potential impact on the local community.
Matthew Sharman, coach of the Onslow St Audrey's Tottenham Hotspur Football Development Centre, shared his vision for how the new sports hall will elevate the programme.
“The investment in the sports facilities at OSA has created an exciting atmosphere which will bring many people from the surrounding communities together," he said.
"The OSA Tottenham Hotspur Programme now has a tremendous resource where learning, development and competition can take place in a flourishing environment.
"This new facility only magnifies our commitment to pushing our players to the limits and supporting them in becoming the best version of themselves on and off the field.”
Dominic Richards, chief operating officer for Danes Educational Trust, which runs the school, spoke about future investment that is planned for the school. He said: “Danes Educational Trust is delighted to open this exciting sporting facility for the school and local community.
"The improved sporting facilities have been an ambition of the school since 2012 and these excellent facilities will benefit current and future generations of learners.
"The opening of the sports hall is a continuation of our wider investment into improving the school for the Hatfield community which has already provided a new science block, classrooms and external spaces.
"Future investment includes an All Weather Pitch, which is currently under construction, and refurbishments to the main school buildings.“
