A man who was arrested at Hatfield Police Station for failing to appear at court was found to be carrying a large machete following a search.
The arrest occurred at the station in Comet Way, when the man attended to sign on for bail.
He was detained on suspicion of failing to appear in connection with possession of an offensive weapon, with a search by officers finding a large machete hidden within his waistband.
The weapon was seized by police.
