A driver caught speeding more than 100mph on worn tyres in Hatfield could have caused "carnage", police have warned.
The BMW was stopped on the A1(M) on Monday night (October 21), after the driver overtook an unmarked police car.
In an X post, the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit said that the vehicles front tyres were found to have been "dangerously worn".

This BMW overtook an unmarked unit in excess of 110 mph, when stopped both front tyres were found to be dangerously worn.
You can imagine the carnage if they failed at that speed!

"You can imagine the carnage if they failed at that speed," the post added.
The driver was issued with a prohibition notice, external, banning the vehicle from being driven on a public road.
Police said the driver would also receive a court summons.
