With Halloween in the middle of this October half term, you get double the fang-tastic fun with Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council events.

There's a packed schedule of events and activities in the borough from Campus West, Mill Green and the Roman Baths museums, the Hive to Stanborough Park and Hatfield Town Centre.

1. Campus West

There’s a whole host of ghoulish goings-on at the family entertainment venue!

Get your skates on an enjoy half term roller skate sessions, which are on every day throughout the half term holiday (sessions are 8+).

This includes:

  • Beginners Skate Sessions
  • Family skate sessions
  • ‘Easy Like Sunday Morning’ relaxed sessions

Plus, there’s a special Halloween-themed spooky Roller Disco session on the 31 October 31. Don’t forget to dress up as there are prizes to be won.

At Soft Play City, timed slots are being introduced during the half term, to ensure everyone has a great play experience. On October 31, the special Halloween-themed session will have arts and crafts, fancy dress, sweets and a ghost hunt!

Spooky cinematic treats are waiting for the adults too – if you dare! The Monday Night Classics season continues with the 40th Anniversary screening of A Nightmare on Elm Street on Monday, October 28.

2. Mill Green

On Sunday, October 27, from 10am to 4pm, families can take part in Mill Green’s Spooky Sunday family Halloween event - The Mystery of the Murdered Miller'!

It’s a short interactive story trail quest with live performers and lots of spooky scares (with a gentler version for younger participants). There will also be Ghoulish Face glitter by Agin, ‘Make a Magic Wand’ and other craft activities, plus a costume competition! Book your slot below.

The rest of the week promises just as much cauldron-bubbling fun for all. Events include -

3. Welwyn Roman Baths

· Thursday, October 31 - Make a ‘Frankenstein’ Pom-Pom Shooter

4. The Hive

5. Half Term Xplorers

The fiendishly fun children's navigational event is back! This half term children can explore maps in Stanborough Park in Welwyn Garden City to find the hidden spooky markers, running Wednesday 30 October to Sunday, November 3. Collect your map from the Splashlands kiosk.

6. Hatfield Town Centre

On October 26, the Vintage & Pre-loved Market will be on 8am until 3pm. Alongside this, from 12pm-5pm in White Lion Square, the Indian Cultural Association of Hertfordshire presents Diwali Dhamak, with stalls offering traditional food, jewellery, Indian ethnic wear and Henna.

Live DJs and dancing will also feature. At Hatfield Library will be Diwali story time – 11.15am-11.45am, followed by arts and crafts, noon to 1.30pm! Book your tickets direct with the library.

On November 2, the Farmers & Craft Market will be on in its usual slot, with a variety of different stalls which sell seasonal fruit and veg, meats, fish, cheese, pies, pickles, cakes, plants and crafts all directly from local growers and producers.
