Willow 10k made its return last weekend with some special guests appearances.
The Willow Foundation, founded by former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson and his late wife Megs in 1999, has been providing special days for seriously ill people aged 16 to 40.
As part of the charity's fundraising efforts, Willow 10k was back on Sunday (October 13), as Hatfield House welcomed runners, supporters and volunteers from across Hertfordshire.
Among the special guests in attendance were Willow’s life president, Bob Wilson, and honorary president, former England goalkeeper David Seaman, who blew the horn to start the 10K, 5K, and Family Fun Runs under way.
Annie Brewster, the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire, also came along.
Many chose to embrace the spirit of the day by dressing up in colourful costumes and creative outfits, while others were running in memory of a loved one.
"We ran in memory of my sister Emily, who had a special day with Willow 21 years ago," said one runner.
"United by her memory, we wanted to raise money for Willow as a heartfelt thank you for the lasting impact they’ve had on our lives."
A spokesperson for Willow added: "We would like to thank all the runners, volunteers, and supporters who made the event a success.
"The 2024 Willow 10k was sponsored by Simmons Bakers, Wrights Estate Agents, Herts SDS, New Horizon CrossFit, Recovery Inc., Davis for Building and John Lewis Welwyn Garden City."
