Public consultations are set to be held for new plans to transform Welwyn Garden City's Wheat Quarter.
From 3pm to 7.30pm, on Thursday, October 17, a consultation will take place at the Wheat Quarter site office on Hyde Way, ahead of an application being submitted in December.
Planning permission was previously granted in 2019 by Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, with a view to enabling the long-awaited regeneration of the former Shredded Wheat Factory site.
But, no progress was made on the site and receivers were appointed in early 2023.
Specialist property developers IJM Land, acquired the Wheat Quarter site in December 2023 and have been working alongside the council to produce revised and deliverable plans.
A spokesman from IJM said: "This site has suffered unnecessary years of uncertainty and non-delivery.
"We want to get on deliver a scheme well related to Welwyn Garden City and its needs and trust our proposals meet with the approval of the local community."
If you cannot make the event, consultation information will be available online, while a provisional date for a second event on Saturday, October 26 has been set, following concerns raised by the Welwyn Garden City Society.
