MP Andrew Lewin has praised the "quick response" of police, after armed officers rushed to the scene of a "concerning" firearms incident in Welwyn Garden City.
The incident happened in Upperfield Road, at around 10.30am on Saturday, following a report of an altercation.
It is reported that a man approached a vehicle which had an occupant inside and it is believed shots were fired in the air. The suspect then left the scene in a black van and after a short time, returned to the area.
A number of resources were deployed to the scene, including armed police officers, and a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms offences and possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs.
Two women were also arrested for assisting an offender.

Welwyn Hatfield MP Andrew Lewin was keen to praise the "quick response" of officers following the incident, which he described as "concerning".
"I have received an initial briefing from the Welwyn Hatfield Chief Inspector on the incident this weekend," he told the Welwyn Hatfield Times.
"It's very concerning that a firearm was involved, but I am grateful for the quick response of the police, swift arrests and the fact there were no injuries.
"The investigation is ongoing, but as per the statement issued by the police, they believe this to be an isolated incident by parties known to each other.
"I've asked for regular updates on the investigation and that visible patrols in the surrounding area are stepped up to reassure local people."
