More than 40 people took part in a Peace Walk in Welwyn Garden City to show solidarity with those living in conflict around the world.

The event took place on Sunday, September 22 to mark the UN International Day of Peace.

Participants started at Campus West and walked along Parkway, via the Focolare Centre for Unity and the Baptist Church and finishing at the Quaker Meeting House for singing, music, cakes and networking.

Organiser Cllr Michal Siewniak said: "Is there anything tangible that I can do to help those in need, I often ask myself?

"I know that we would like to do more. We would like to stop every war. We would like to bring stability to every corner of the world. I know that it is impossible.

"However, let’s keep actively listening and looking at what we can do to help locally, no matter how small this help might be.
