Drivers were reported and given advice by police during a speeding operation in Welwyn and Digswell.

On Sunday, September 15, officers conducted an operation in Station Road and New Road in Digswell, and Great North Road in Welwyn, following concerns raised by resident.

A number of drivers were issued advice about speeding, while one motorist was reported after being caught exceeding a 20mph speed limit.

PCSO Anne Devine, from the Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "We know that residents feel very strongly about speeding and I hope the news of this operation is reassuring.

"We stopped a number of drivers and issued words of advice where appropriate. Unfortunately, we had to report one driver for speeding in a 20mph zone.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who do follow the speed limit. We intend to carry out further enforcement activity in the area so let this be a warning to those who think it is ok to ignore the speed limit. Next time, you may find yourself faced by police."
