A woman has been rushed to hospital after a crash on the M25 near Potters Bar today (September 20).

Herts police and the East of England Ambulance Service were called at 9.35am to a road traffic collision involving two cars on the anti-clockwise M25 between Junction 24 for Potters Bar and Junction 23 for South Mimms.

A white Cupra Leon and a white Vauxhall van were involved, with woman rushed to Barnet General Hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

A full closure of the carriageway was put in place causing lengthy delays for motorists, but this has now been lifted.

"We were called at 9.35am to a road traffic collision involving two cars on the anti-clockwise M25 between Junction 24 and Junction 23," an East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said.

"An ambulance was sent to the scene and transported a woman to Barnet General Hospital for further treatment."

"Police were called at around 9.43am today to reports of road traffic collision on the M25 involving a white Cupra Leon and a white Vauxhall van," said a Herts police spokesperson.

"Officers attended to manage traffic as a full closure was imposed on the carriageway. It reopened at around 11.22am."
