Artists showcasing their work across two retail units in the Howard Centre in Welwyn Garden City were paid a visit from Welwyn Hatfield's Mayor and other councillors.
On Monday, Mayor Cllr Frank Marsh went along with the free exhibition, which ran from September 7 until September 15.
It was part of the annual Herts Open Studios event, organised by Herts Visual Arts, a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers for creatives and artists to get their work out to a wider audience.
This year, 162 artists have been exhibiting across 77 venues throughout Hertfordshire during the month of September. The Howard Centre has collaborated with Herts Visual Arts to bring the exhibition to WGC, where there were 10 artists showing their work.
Artist and co-organiser, Heather Miller, said: “The aim of our Open Studios is to bring real art to the community with exhibitions of our work, together with demonstrations and the opportunity for people to talk to the artists themselves.”
“We had some wonderful feedback from many of our visitors, who loved being able to see original art in a local environment.”
Cllr Jane Quinton, deputy leader of the council, said: “We were so pleased to welcome the talented local artists from Herts Open Studios back again.
"It’s testament to its popularity here that it returned for a fourth time to exhibit in the Howard Centre – and I hope it will be back again."
