Good day to everyone, my name is Charlie and I think you will agree from my photos I am a rather smashing looking dog of mixed heritage, with a personality that definitely matches my handsome exterior.
I have stolen the hearts of all the staff and volunteers at Southridge, since through no fault of my own I found myself without a home and so came to live here some months ago.
I was quite timid when I first arrived, the new and unfamiliar surroundings being rather overwhelming, but I soon adapted and now know the ropes and have settled into the routine here.
However that does not mean I like kennel life, it is hard on me, inevitably noisy and stressful. I am a senior gentleman, around 10 years old and long for the comfort of a cosy and loving home and family.
I wasn't used to being walked in my past life, but being a smart chap I soon learned how to walk on lead, and while I don't pull at all, I can get a little excited by a new discovery when out and about and do a bit of running on the spot!
And I do let my walker know when a little break and a cuddle is due by sitting on their feet in the midst of my adventures.
I am a real gent, offering my paw in greeting when I get a visitor to my kennel. I love my toys but will throw them aside when I get the offer of a cuddle instead.
I am very fond of food and a tasty treat is always received with great enthusiasm and thanks due to my impeccable manners.
I am looking for a quiet home with kind people experienced with dogs, who love to cuddle and will be patient with me as a adapt to my new home and overcome any anxieties during my adjustment.
I would be fine living with older children (over 15 years) but would like to be the only furry member of the family.
Unless I can go to a dog run, I will need to remain on lead for my walks, so need a nice securely fenced garden to run and play in.
Well what are you waiting for? If you fit my criteria, get in touch with Southridge. I can't wait to meet you.
