Welwyn Garden City's 12-year-old singing sensation Immi Davis is set to release her debut single later this week.
New Day will be available on all streaming platforms this Friday (September 13), a moment that has been long in the making for talented youngster, who shot to fame in 2022 when she reached the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent.
Mum Lisa Davis told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: "I’m immensely proud. It’s been a long time coming because she’s been working on it for a couple of years now. She’s doing really well."
The song is being released as part of new children's book series, with Lisa explaining: "It’s an up-tempo pop song, so more like a dance song.
"The story with New Day is that it’s been written alongside a 13-book series which is coming out soon. Each book has a song with it, and Immi has recorded six so far, with a view to record a further six.
"The book for New Day is called Ella Land, and it’s written in connection with that. The song is about living your life to the full, making the most of each new day and lifting yourself up, but anyone can take their own meaning from it.
"It’s not aimed at children, it’s a song that anyone can listen to. It’s a great song and I love it. At the age of 12, it’s just so amazing for her to have her own music."
Although Immi is not signed to a record label, Lisa was full of praise for the lyricists and producers she has been working alongside.
As for the future, Lisa believes nothing will stop her daughter pursuing a career in music, and teased a debut album release in the future.
"She loves her music. She’s got her sights set on doing music for a long time and you can’t stop her," she said.
"She just started secondary school, and she went and joined the choir, which was all her own doing.
"Maybe all these singles will end up on an album one day. I think she’ll do an album eventually, so watch this space."
Immi's debut single, New Day is out on Friday, September 13, and will be available on all good music streaming platforms.
