The Met Office is warning of potential frequent lightning strikes in Hertfordshire tomorrow.
Starting at 4am on Sunday (September 1) and lasting until 9pm, the yellow warning covers the west of the county including Watford, St Albans, Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, and Stevenage.
Thundery downpours are expected, which may be “impactful” with intense rain, hail, and gusty winds, according to the Met Office.
The warning also states that there is “a small chance of flooding and disruption from heavy showers and thunderstorms” in a few places.

Despite the storms, temperatures in Hertfordshire could reach the high-20s or even 30C when the sun appears, but forecasters noted this is “very much dependent on cloud breaks”.
The weather forecast is less certain than usual from the end of the weekend into the beginning of next week, Met Office deputy chief meteorologist Dan Harris said.
This is due to “the complex interaction of a number of volatile, small-scale weather features over and around the UK”, he explained.
The extent of the thunderstorms is apparently very uncertain with many places likely to miss them but where they do occur 30 to 40 millimetres of rain is likely to fall in less than an hour and "frequent lightning strikes" are expected.
