Hello
My name is Summer and I hope to find a home of my own soon, as it has been a hard start for me in my short life.
I have experienced fear, hunger and loneliness.
I was just a kitten when found as a stray, and because I was so very scared and anxious when I arrived at Southridge, it is obvious that I was not used to much in the way of human contact - or not from kind people anyway.
Although I have been shown so much love and kindness here at Southridge since I arrived, I could not trust anyone at first as I was so bewildered and terrified.
After all I had lost my mother and my siblings too. However I have gradually come out of my shell and am learning to play - a great pastime!
I also like treats and while I was very wary at first, I now enjoy nibbling on tasty items from the hands of familiar and gentle staff and volunteers.
I have been spayed, am a healthy and beautiful sleek and very petite six month old girl, and now feel ready to move on to my forever home.
I do think I would benefit from the company of another young friendly cat, to help me to feel more confident and show me the ropes, and I am sure playing together once we have got acquainted would be great fun.
However because I am a timid girl, I think I need an adult only, calm household and absolutely don't want to share my space with a dog - far too scary!
I will also need a private garden and a cat flap to go in and out once I am settled in and feeling secure.
I will need hand feeding at first to gain my confidence with new people and lots of enrichment including play time with my new human friends.
I will also need a secure place to retreat to when I want to relax, as I can quite easily become scared.
If you think you are the kind, patient cat loving person or people who could offer a sweet little cat a special home then please contact Southridge and ask to meet me, Summer.
