Pop the kettle on and rally your friends, family, or colleagues to host a Brew for the Crew event for the region's air ambulance service.

Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) has launched its newest fundraising initiative, ‘Brew for the Crew’.

Sponsored by Phase 2 Planning and Milbank Concrete Products, the Brew for the Crew fundraiser invites individuals, families, and businesses throughout Hertfordshire and Essex to brew up support for their local life-saving charity.

From intimate tea parties to bustling coffee mornings, every sip poured, and every penny raised contributes directly to the life-saving efforts of EHAAT.

EHAAT crews are dispatched on average seven times a day to medical emergencies, and last year alone, 1,904 patients were treated, highlighting the significant impact of the services across Hertfordshire and Essex.

EHAAT hopes that local communities will unite in raising not just cups, but much-needed funds, to show their appreciation for the rapid response crews, who provide advanced critical care round the clock, every day of the year.

Stacey Wilson, fundraising manager at EHAAT, said: "We are thrilled to introduce Brew for the Crew as a fun and impactful way for our supporters to get involved.

"By simply sharing a cuppa with friends, family, or colleagues, participants can make a real difference in ensuring that we can always be there when needed most.

“EHAAT is committed to supporting participants every step of the way. Whether you need fundraising tips, promotional materials, or planning assistance, our team is here to help ensure your Brew for the Crew event is a success”.

Kathy and Christine, friends from Welwyn Garden City, have supported EHAAT for many years by knitting soft toys and holding coffee mornings.

Kathy said: “We hold Brew for the Crew coffee mornings in my back garden. We bake lots of cakes and raffle off the knitted toys.

"Everyone is happy to contribute to a collection because Essex & Herts Air Ambulance provides such an important service for our local community.”

TV personality and EHAAT Celebrity Ambassador Lisa Snowdon said: "As an ambassador for this incredible charity and a fan of a good cuppa I am delighted to be supporting ‘Brew for the Crew’ this year.

"We all know how important it is to take a break during the day, to regroup and recharge.”

Only last month, EHAAT held a special Heli-bration launch event at Hatfield House for its new AW169 helicopter.

About Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT)

Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) is a charity that provides a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for the critically ill and injured of Essex, Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas.

The service is provided free of charge, but the charity receives limited direct funding from the Government and none from the National Lottery.

It costs in excess of £1 million every month to keep the service operational and cover all charitable costs. This would not be possible without the goodwill of people in Essex, and Hertfordshire.

Each of the charity’s HEMS teams consist of two pilots, a pre-hospital care doctor and a critical care paramedic.

The fleet consists of two state-of-the-art air ambulances, and four Rapid Response Vehicles (RRVs).

The RRVs are crewed by a pre-hospital care doctor and a critical care paramedic and carry the same life-saving equipment as the helicopters.
